Douglas Dimitroff, a partner at Phillips Lytle LLP, was elected president of the New York State Wireless Association, which he founded. He has 11 years’ experience in telecommunications law and regulatory matters.
The statewide group hopes to promote and advance the telecommunications industry through educational initiatives and opportunities for members.
The association will be a central repository for collection and distribution of news and information and will seek to cultivate relationships between its members and the local communities they serve.
"There is a definite need in New York state to foster the advancement and promotion of the wireless industry," Dimitroff said in a release.
Among the 12 officers and board members appointed were Adam Walters and Alexandra Townson, both of Phillips Lytle , and Ken Summers, also of Buffalo. Walters was named association secretary.
The group will be supported by PCIA (formerly the Personal Communications Industry Association).
